We don’t give rough estimates over the phone. We come out, walk through the space with you, and look at everything – the light, the layout, the condition of the surfaces.

After the visit, you’ll get a clear, detailed quote.

We’ll also talk you through:

• Colour options if you’re still deciding.
• Product choices (we use Resene and Dulux, depending on surface and preference).
• Paint types for different areas, ceilings, walls, trims, bathrooms, exteriors.
• Options for encapsulating older surfaces if lead-based paint is detected.

Most clients leave the technical decisions to us, and that’s fine. But if you’ve already researched brands or have preferences, we’ll work with you and explain why we recommend what we do.

Once you’re happy to go ahead, we’ll lock in the start date. Most jobs begin within 2 to 4 weeks. And when we turn up, we’re ready to go.

That means:

• All prep materials are already organised.
• Paints and supplies are confirmed and ordered.
• The crew is briefed, and the job is scheduled into our system.

The only thing we wait for is your final top coat colour, which we pick up fresh.

Everything else is lined up in advance so we’re not wasting time and you’re not left waiting.

You’ll know exactly when we’re starting, what we’re doing, and who’s turning up to do it.

Before any painting starts, you’ll know exactly who’s coming into your home, what’s happening, and when. We introduce the team, walk through the job one last time, and make sure access is sorted so the work runs smoothly.

From there, it’s all about careful setup. We protect your home as if it were our own.

That means:

• Drop cloths laid over every exposed surface.
• Carpet film to prevent tripping and protect high-use areas.
• Curtains, blinds, and furniture removed or fully masked.
• Powerpoints, switches and door handles taken off not painted around.
• Wardrobes (and the clothes inside) are sealed off so no dust gets in.
• Door hinges swapped out temporarily so they don’t catch paint.

It’s not just about keeping things clean. It’s about setting a foundation for a sharp, long-lasting finish and giving you peace of mind while we’re working in your space.

You won’t see these details when the job’s done but you’ll feel the difference every time you walk through the room.

We never paint over problems. Every surface is checked, cleaned and repaired before a brush touches the wall.

That includes:

• Scraping away loose or flaky paint.
• Treating stains from mould, grease, fly spots or nicotine.
• Spot priming water-damaged or repaired areas.
• Filling dents, cracks, gaps and nail holes.
• Sanding every surface and not just the obvious ones.
• Undercoating to make sure the top coats last.

Once the first coat is on, we don’t just tick it off. We go back with fresh eyes – inches from the wall – checking for anything that doesn’t meet our standard. If we see it, we fix it.

The finish looks great because of the time we spend getting everything under the surface right. And that means it lasts.

We apply the final coat with care, checking for consistency in colour and coverage. Then, once the paint’s dry, we put everything back in its place.
